Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of affordablehousing101.com (the “site”) and your enrollment in continuing-education programs offered by Affordable Housing 101, LLC (“AH 101,” “the school,” or “we”). By using the site or enrolling in a program, you agree to these terms. The course-specific enrollment confirmation you receive controls in any conflict.
Use of the site
The site is provided for general informational purposes and to support course enrollment, the Learning Management System, and the regulatory bulletin. Material on the site is not legal, tax, or housing advice and should not be relied upon as a substitute for advice tailored to a specific situation. Regulation changes; the site is updated as the school sees fit.
What AH 101 does — and does not
AH 101 is a continuing-education company. We teach. We hold ourselves out as compliance practitioners; we do not hold ourselves out as your lawyer, your tax advisor, or your accountant. Where a question requires legal counsel, we will say so plainly and will recommend that you engage counsel of your choosing. Curriculum is taught by current and former housing-compliance practitioners.
Enrollment, tuition, and refunds
Enrollment in a live cohort opens four weeks before the cohort begins and closes when the seats are filled. Tuition is due in full at the time of enrollment. The following refund policy applies to individual enrollments; corporate engagements are governed by their own statements of work.
- Before the first session: full refund, less a $35 administrative fee.
- During the first week: 75% refund.
- After the first week and before the midpoint: 50% refund.
- After the midpoint: no refund. Students may, at our discretion, transfer their seat to a future cohort once, subject to availability.
Continuing-education credit
AH 101 is registered as an IRS-Approved CE Provider, an NAHMA education provider, and is curriculum-aligned with NCHM. Credit is awarded only to students who complete the requirements published in the syllabus for that course. Certificates of completion are issued electronically within ten business days of completion.
The school does not guarantee that any particular continuing-education credit will be accepted by an employer, certification board, or state regulatory authority other than the bodies named on the course page. Students are responsible for confirming the suitability of a program for their own credentialing requirements before enrollment.
Use of accrediting names
References to the IRS, HUD, NAHMA, NCHM, SHCM, HCCP, COS, NCP-E, and similar marks are made nominatively and only to identify the accrediting bodies and credentials at issue. AH 101 is independent of these bodies and is not their agent or representative.
Intellectual property
Course materials, recordings, assessments, and the curriculum itself are owned by AH 101 or used under license. Students may reproduce a reasonable number of copies for their own personal, non-commercial reference. All other reproduction, distribution, public display, transmission, or use to train any machine-learning model requires the school's prior written consent. Sharing live-course access credentials with another person is grounds for removal from the program without refund.
Acceptable use
You agree to use the site and the Learning Management System only for lawful purposes. You agree not to:
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the site, the Learning Management System, or any related infrastructure;
- Use any automated means to access, scrape, or copy course materials for redistribution, resale, or training a machine-learning model;
- Impersonate another person, share enrollment credentials, or take an assessment on behalf of another person;
- Submit material to discussion forums or to faculty that is unlawful, defamatory, or that infringes the rights of any third party.
Third-party links
The site and course materials may link to third-party resources (federal and state regulators, accrediting bodies, professional associations) for the convenience of the reader. The school does not endorse, sponsor, or guarantee the content or practices of those sites.
Disclaimer of warranties
The site and the courses are provided “as is,” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, currency, or non-infringement. The school does not warrant that the site or the LMS will be uninterrupted or free of error.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, neither AH 101 nor any of its faculty, employees, or agents shall be liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, material published on the site or in any course. The school's aggregate liability for any claim relating to a course is limited to the tuition paid for that course. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Governing law
These terms and any matter relating to them or to your use of the site or the courses shall be governed by the laws of the District of Columbia, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. The state and federal courts seated in the District of Columbia shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any such matter, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
Changes
The school may revise these terms from time to time. The date at the head of these terms indicates when they were last revised. Your continued use of the site, or your re-enrollment, after a change constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
Severability
If any provision of these terms is held to be unenforceable, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full effect.
